Rain Drops: When it Rains it Pours
“I feel alright
As long as the sun is bright
Soon as the clouds come rolling by
Big tears form in my eyesCan't explain
How I feel when the sky is grey
I sit alone and I just pray
For a sunny dayRain drops keep falling down
Your voice keeps calling me
Such a familiar sound
Those rainy nights keep haunting me”
I was not going to post this but I loved how it finished up. I mentioned before that I am really inspired by the rain and how could I not be when it looks this good. As a gardener, rain is my friend.

OK, I know I said I would stop posting about politics/poli tricks, but I am finding it hard not to do so. Since I do not go to a barber shop or salon anymore, I do not have an outlet to discuss such things with other Negro folk in real life so I have been depending on my blog for that missing discourse.
Speaking of rain drops, when it rains it pours for my boy Barack Obama. Before I jump off; I do not why people do not know if he is a Christian or not. Can they not read, do they not watch the news and how are they making decisions to vote or not to vote for whoever if they are not educating themselves with basic information.
Wait before I get to Barack, let me visit NY's David Patterson 1st. Why is the media obsessed with who is fucking who??? When I got to work today I almost spit out my cranberry juice when I read “N.Y. governor: State employee among my several affairs” on CNN.com. Why is that relevant? And what tripped me out is that him and his wife was getting their creep on. Things must have been really fucked up! Anyway after reading the article and a few more on the same subject, I joked to myself that he may be blind but he can definitely find some pussy!
Back to my point: I know you heard snippets or read about Barack’s riveting speech today. I must admit that I almost teared up a bit. He really put it down! His critics may talk about all he is speeches, but when you can be so inspired by words, then you are showing power, knowledge and experience.
"I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community," "I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother - a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."The big thing now is to see how his words will play out in the polls in 5 weeks. Will he be able to capture the white man’s vote???
Barack Obama 2008
Can you really help who you know. Should I disown a cousin who burned down her girlfriend’s house, who is also linked to prostitution and drugs? Should I disown my uncle who murdered like 8 people? We know who we know but that does not make up or character, intentions or personal ideology.
That’s all!

Dude, Jeremiah Wright wasn't too off. And people need to chill the hell out if they're offended by that. It wasn't that deep.

I agree with Jose. I didn't see what was so wrong with some of things he stated.
I wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall at some of those southern white churchs...
now that you mention it...sometimes I miss going to the salon and talking shit.

great way with words, and his speech was morehouse-esque

Photo: Absolutely stunning!
Obama: Sigh! Well, you read my posts--so you know my thoughts on all of this mess. I haven't sat down and listened to/read the speech yet, but will shortly.
American amnesia AND the lack of the ability to reason and think critically just baffles me. This "scaredy-cat"/reverse victimization thing is just--just--I don't even have a word for it.
The Pattersons: Hmmmm...(twisted face)

I haven't heard the speech yet and have been avoiding reading the transcript of it because I want to see the video for the full effect. But based on the snippets I've read and/or seen, I have to say I am really impressed with Senator Obama more and more. :)
I started out as a Hillary supporter because I have admired her throughout the years. But unfortunately I've seen her revert to politricks just like any other public official, which has been a real turn-off. And after realizing WHY she is not pushing universal health care anymore, all of that together caused her to lose my vote. :(
LOL @ Patterson finding p*ssy in the dark! :-D

Jose -Some of the sound bites Jeremiah reminded me of that video that I posted a few weeks ago where the 5%er jumped off on that white girl. He spoke the truth no doubt but our truth hurts because it invokes obvious white guilt.
Why do we need to praise America or systems that is against our success? Pa-leaseeee
Cluziel - Ain't no telling how some talk when not taped & not just in a church.
Torrance - yes, reminded me of a modern MLK style.
Tamra - Thx!!! I look forward to reading your thoughts on the speech!
Carla - I was so so on Billary & Barack initially but when the gloves came off the Billary camp, I knew it was not the way to go. Barack carries with dignity (not to say that Billary does not) & I see so much promise in him &I think leaders from around the world will see that as well.
"LOL @ Patterson finding p*ssy in the dark!" I love it!!! I laughed about my comment on the way to work this AM.

Hi Tafari
David Patterson , had affairs , who cares, I don't even care if Spitzer had an affair. The affairs are all a scapegoat .
____________My oppinion __________
The whole point is to take down the superdelegates for Hillary . It is no secret the international financers who basically control the world , want thier own president ..... It has been rumored that BO is there to take HRC out , then BO is supposedly going to have major scandal, or be assasinated , they even mentioned about BO taking Bloomberg as vice president ! God help us if we are really facing Corporativism, neo feudalism , one world rule !!!!

I really don't care who is getting laid, it is the criminal activity that is the issue. Spitzer should have tried to get some free ass 1st.
Oh hell no Bloomberg as a running mate. I think i would shit on myself! Maybe that is why he decided to not to get into the race.
"It has been rumored that BO is there to take HRC out , then BO is supposedly going to have major scandal, or be assassinated" Scary shit!!! I don't even want to think about it.

Swear off politics/politricks?!
Please don't...
As tired as I am of hearing about who is doing whom when he/she is married to someone else... perhaps we could GET OVER IT if everyone was willing to out their dirty laundry in this way.
At some point, we would have to get SUPER BORED? Right?!
Barack -- well, I have to say as another commenter said, I started out in Hillary's camp...but Barack is not showing promise now, he's showing power, integrity, intelligence and thoughtfulness. That is a president I can get behind. And...he is a better person than I am to be able to say that he loves this country despite its contradictions. I have a hard enough time on a day to day basis just owning my citizenship -- proferred as tentatively as it is.

"As tired as I am of hearing about who is doing whom when he/she is married to someone else... perhaps we could GET OVER IT if everyone was willing to out their dirty laundry in this way." No one is big enough to admit that they are nasty behind closed doors. My boo told me that the former gov of NJ was in a 3some with his wife & driver. Will the lust ever end???
