Logo Fight
A little over 2 weeks ago Afrobella announced an open logo design contest for her blog. When I initially read it, I was temped to enter but I was like noooo, I am not a competitive person & I hate losing.
Weeeeeell, after a few days of thinking about it, I gave into myself & created a logo to submit for the contest. It took me about 6 hours (off & on) to get it exactly how I wanted it.
The contest ends Aug 5th & I am nervous but at the same time I am excited for Afrobella because I love her blog, as I’m a frequent reader.
Although her blog covers a lot of beauty stuff, she also covers some great history pieces & pop culture pieces that I enjoy reading.
So now I have about 2 weeks before the contest ends & a winner is announced so my fingers are crossed! Which ever way things go, I am positive that she will have something really good but my boo is really wanting me to win so she can get the $50 Sephora gift certificate & other goodies. I just want to be praised for the world to see for being a great designer LOL.
Here is what I did, let me know what you think (don't be afraid to be honest, I am a byg boy)!

Very cute!
I'm having a secret Brunsli logo contest too! Only if you win, you won't get the same publicity as on Afrobella. Oh well.
I like the logo, but I think the e should be a little easier to read. I love the A! Did you design the font too?

I like it a lot. I had to look at it a second time to catch the face blowing "kisses". That's very creative. I also like how the font twists and and curves. I'd like to see a little more color though.
Can you recommend a user friendly software for a novice that wants to design greeting cards, t-shirts etc?

Thanks for the feedback everyone! It's not very color intense because a color scheme was not mentioned in the contest & I did not ask when I got involved. Usually when I design logos (not very frequently & not one of my favorite things to do) I submit the design(s) in B&W unless I know what the color scheme is. I also charge up to 300 bucks based on company/project.
I did not create the font but I wish I could have, I would be paid because it cost me 22 bucks when I purchased it. Because I design quite a bit I purchase a lot of fonts & they can get pricey. Most times it is worth it especially if you do not want your work to look like familiar.
Brunsli - Secret? How do people find out LOL.
Ms Stella - I do not know of one that I can recommend outside of Adobe Illustrator, its what I use but I know there has to be something out there!

I'm with Lola!
So, thanks to Ms. Stella, I finally see the kisses and why the e is so strange. I asked Breadfruit, and he kinda missed it too. Maybe you have to make it more obvious for us blockheads.
Any chance I could get you to make me a Brunsli jpg with that font? I guess I should wait until the Afrobella contest is over. When you win, I don't want to look like I'm copying her style. ;)

The logo is perfect! I love it (: Once I saw the e blowing kisses, it was all over for me.

That is nice!!! I really love it and like everyone else I didn't notice the kiss at first but when I did it took the design from ordinary to extraordinary. I love it. I would ask you to hook me up but I can't afford your services.
PEACE

FN - Hit me up any time & we can get it cracking!
To all that missed the e - What is worng with you!!! LOL You are supposed to just know its an E because that is what I want you to see.
Lola & Brunsli - I hear you...
Brunsli - "...why the e is so strange." Artistic improvising & I considered it as an abstract way to push the design ahead. I will hook you up, let so lets see how things go.
To all - being honest, based on the repeated feedback on that, it shows that my design is unsuccessful because no one should not have to work hard on figuring out what I design is. If I win & Afrobella wants a tweak, I will mos def honor that because I want my work to be stellar. Outside of it, once you "figure" it out, it looks coooooool! Wait, maybe it is a left brain/right brain thinker thing.
Fingers still crossed

I love the blowing kiss, but the "e" is a little hard to distinguish. Otherwise, it's hot. Good luck!
